2006-04-24Secondary nameservers for .EU and .BE TLD in NIX.CZ

The administrators of .EU and .BE top level domains (EURid and DNS.BE) have chosen NIX.CZ peering node as one of the locations for their secondary domain nameservers. NIX.CZ traffic has currently exceeded 15 Gbps, which positions NIX.CZ among 10 largest peering exchanges in Europe, measured by traffic. It is the first installation of this type of service in Central and Eastern Europe.
NIX.CZ ranks among 10 largest peering exchanges in Europe by total traffic. Installation of the DNS servers proves the significance of NIX.CZ within European Internet infrastructure.

NIX.CZ, z.s.p.o. (professional association of legal entities) is an association of notable Czech Internet Service Providers (ISP). The objective of the association is to support a neutral interchange (peering) node (Neutral Internet Exchange), facilitating mutual interconnection of member Internet networks (peering). Another objective is the protection of common interests of Inernet-type network operators in Czech Republic.
