2008-10-03Data flow through NIX.CZ – Neutral Internet Exchange – broke the limit of 50Gb/s

Today, the data flow through the Internet Exchange of NIX.CZ exceeded 50Gb/s. Compared to last year the volume of transmitted data has more than doubled. This fact confirms the position of NIX.CZ as an important Internet Exchange in Europe.

The significant increase in data flow has been caused by increasing user’s demand for applications requiring high connection speed and capacity, in particular video, music and games. The members and customers of the NIX.CZ association mostly use 10Gb/s ports to connect to the infrastructure, which enables them to fully satisfy the increased demand from the end users. We are also happy to announce that the number of members and customers of the NIX.CZ association, both Czech and foreign companies, is on a continuous increase. Such a growth in the number of newly connected companies shows that the NIX.CZ Internet Exchange provides its members and customers with high-quality services which help them further develop their business.

The technology of NIX.CZ Association has been developed ahead of time to be able to manage the ever-growing volumes of data. The association has been continuously upgrading the hardware in individual locations and well as the back-bone connections interconnecting the aforesaid locations of the Internet Exchange.
