2009-04-16Heads of top Internet exchange points from all over the world will meet in Prague

At the end of April, representatives of the biggest Internet exchange points (peering centres) from all over the world will gather in Prague. NIX.CZ, the operator of the Czech peering point, along with CZ.NIC, the administrator of the top level domain .CZ and the international organization EURO-IX organize a two-day meeting in the Czech capital on 27 and 28 April. The main topic will be how to secure the data flow between states and their networks.

“This is the second meeting of the peering centre representatives in Prague in the short history of EURO-IX. It is certainly also due to the international importance of NIX.CZ, which is very active in the group of peering centres from individual countries. We should also mention that the Czech exchange centre has long established itself as one of the ten biggest ones in Europe,” says Tomáš Maršálek, NIX.CZ Executive Director.

Such meetings are organized twice a year by EURO-IX, on whose board sits Ondřej Filip, CZ.NIC Executive Director, who was appointed for the second time last autumn. Detailed information about the event including the program and a list of registered attendees can be found at www.euro-ix.net. The next meeting of EURO-IX is scheduled for the beginning of November in the Italian capital of Rome. It will be the 15th gathering.
